We are well aware of actors supporting causes. Well, here we have actor Srikanth supporting a wonderful cause. Wondering what the cause is? It is a P.R. campaign conducted by the students of II year M.A Communication of M.O.P Vaishnav College for Women. The students, to instil a sense of pride in the people of Chennai, have come up with a 3-day campaign and the programme was inaugurated by C.K. Gariyali, Secretary to the Governor, and film actor Srikanth. Ms. Gariyali reminiscenced about her tenure in Chennai.
Actor Srikanth said he owed his popularity to Chennai. Whenever actor Srikanth started talking, huge applause would resound in the auditorium; so it took time for him to get his message across. He appreciated the students' efforts and congratulated the students. The three day events included the first day at Island Grounds, second day at the college and the third day was taking the message to the masses. The various items included dance, dolls display (kolu), choir presentation, movie screenings, street plays and villu pattu. The students have also written essays and on-the-spot contests. The students have designed brochures, developed television programmes, radio commercials and other materials to promote their programme.
