Surya made his debut in the movie Nerukku Naer that was produced under the banner of Madras Talkies that is owned by Maniratnam. Since the day Surya and Maniratnam share a very special relationship in the industry.
Thus Surya was cast in the movie Aayutha Ezhuthu that was also directed by Maniratnam. Aayutha Ezhuthu was the movie that made Surya to get recognized as a very good and performing actor in the industry.
Thus Surya has agreed to dub for the movie Guru in Tamil for Abhishek Bachchan. He has done so because Maniratnam had requested Suriya for dubbing in the movie.
While the movie stars Aishwarya Rai, Madhavan and Bipasha Basu in important roles, the music for the movie has been composed by AR Rahman. For the Tamil version of the movie Vairamuthu has handled the lyrics.
