Kollywood, Tollywood or any part of tinselville swears by remakes. Films in one language that becomes box-office hits are remade in another language. Sometimes, the themes are slightly modified to suit local tastes and trends.
Now Sundar C.’s Thalainagaram joins the long list of remakes. The movie is being remade in Telugu as Nagaram. Telugu actor Srikanth will play the hero and a new face from Mumbai will be the heroine. Produced by Oscar Ravichandran, Thalainagaram is based on a pure action-script. The movie marked the beginning of Sundar C. as hero in Kollywood.
