Chief Minister Kalaignar M.Karunanidhi's expertise in Tamil literature is well known. The great author has a deep love and attachment to the language and encourages appropriate usage of Tamil words.
Recently he has suggested a small change in the spelling of Seeman’s Vazhthukkal. He remarked that the extra ‘k’ used in the title reminds everyone of the other ‘kal’ (A strong drink ). He further opined that though both are gramatically correct, the small change will convey the meaning effectively.
Seeman who is also an ardent lover of the language has assimilated the wisdom and has made the necessary change. Now Vazhthukkal has become Vazhthugal.
Surely this incident will throw a caution amidst film folks particularly while fixing the title for their future projects!
