Tamil New Year's day; an occasion for celebration for Tamilians all over the world. New year... New resolutions... sit back to enjoy the special programmes on Vijay TV on April 14th and celebrate the festival in a grand manner.
A spiritual note begins the day's programmes, paying tribute to Lord Muruga, in 'Kandha Sashti Kavasam' at 5.00 am. Next is 'Mangala Isai' at 5.30, with devotional songs. At 6.00 am is 'Thamiz Isai' with a rural flavour, followed by 'Samarpanam', featuring Dr. Shobha Chadrasekar at 6.30 am.
7.00 am has a one-hour exclusive featuring lyricist and tamil poet, Kavignar Vairamuthu, conducting a poetic session with noted poets on 'Vairamuthuvin Kaviarangam'. Stay tuned to witness 'Leyoni Sirappu Patti Mandram', conducted by Dindugal leyoni, the topic of debate being, 'Which plays a critical role in the success of a film? Hero or story?'
For some real entertainment, join Anu Hassan at 9 am, on a special episode of Idhayam Mantra Koffee with Anu, where she chats with the hot couple of Mayakkanadi: Cheran, the popular actor/director and critically acclaimed Kerala beauty, Navya Nair.
Entertainment peaks from 10 am, as Vijay promises 3 hours of non-stop laughter. 'Vivekungo', a three-hour exclusive features top comedian Vivek in avatars never seen before to hold the audience in splits with his thought-provoking comedy.
'Vivekungo-Kalakkungo' at 10 am has a solo performance by 'Chinna kalaivanar Vivek' in which he does a brilliant mimic of the lyricist Vairamuthu.
At 10.30 am, it is Vivek with the comedy kings of Hutch Kalaka Povathu Yaar 3. Vivek judges the performance of these comedy kings based on situations given by him in 'Naangalum Vivekungo' In the latter part of the show, Vivek also performs standup comedy with these comedy kings. 'Sillunu oru Jodingo' at 11.30 am features the evergreen comedy jodi Vivek and Kovai Sarala together in action with the peppy host Mamathy Chari.
Vivekungo special continues with 'Kallaikirango' at 12.00 noon. Here it is Vivek vs. Vivek; this half hour is filled with fun as Vivek puts himself in many funny situations by asking tricky questions At 12.30 pm, Thiruvalluvar visits you on Valluvarungo. Yes!
