Laadam deals with the troubles and dilemmas of a young man who comes to Chennai in search of a job and gets caught in a don's web of deceit. The story, told from a novel angle, has Arvind and Charmi in the lead roles. The story and screenplay have been written by its director Prabhu, director of some famous films including Kannodu Kanbathellam, King, Kokki and Lee. Dharan's music is engaging and versatile.
The first song 'Siru Thoduthalile' in Haricharan and Bombay Jayashree's voices is a fitting prelude for the entire musical treat that awaits listeners in the album. 'Atlantic Oceanukku' is typically in Suchithra's style. Rhythmic, energetic and peppy, the song will certainly make everyone groove to its beats. 'Siru Thoduthalile' also has an instrumental version by Naveen Iyer. The melodious tune soaks the listeners in pure emotions. 'Gangster' has a lengthy and touching prelude in the form of dialogues. Benny, Dr. Burn and Jazz sing this innovative rap. Rahul Nambiar, Suvi and Jazz render the fast number 'Makkah'.
Dharan has done a commendable job for Laadam. The album is comprehensive with all genres of songs.
