Director Priyadarshan, who is busy completing Hindi film Billo Barber with Shahrukh Khan and Irrfan Khan, has built a sound studio in Singapore. The director hopes that the studio will be of tremendous help to Indian ad-makers, who have to go from Singapore to Hong Kong for sound mixing and dubbing.
"My children Kalyani and Siddharth study in Singapore. So I already have a home there. My studio provides all sound facilities that will save them plenty of time and money. The idea is to not just benefit myself, but the entire Indian entertainment industry,” Priyadarshan said.
In fact, Priyadarshan is not the first one to open a studio in the recent times. Cinematographer Nirav Shah, who worked his magic in films like Arindhum Ariyamalum, Pattiyal, Billa, Pokkiri, Oram Po, Dhoom and Dhoom 2, is also all set to build a studio in Chennai, which will be equipped with all available futuristic technologies of modern filmmaking.
Nirav Shah has already zeroed in on a 12-acre land off the Old Mahabalipuram Road. He also has plans to buy the adjacent 8-acre plot when he expands this studio. It is said that his studio, built at a cost of Rs. 100 crores, will become one of the best film studios in the world. Construction work will begin next month and it is to be completed in 8 months.
