Not long ago, director Ameer, who does not believe in making remakes, commented that even he would love to remake a hilarious film like the Sivaji starrer Baley Pandiya if Ajith agrees to do the lead role. He said that Ajith is a great actor and should shed his action hero image for comedy as well as trail-blazing roles. Ameer thinks a personality like Ajith will be able to sizzle in a subject like Baley Pandiya. He also added that he would consider himself blessed if he got an opportunity to direct Ajith in Baley Pandiya’s remake.
Kollywood is the land of opportunities and Ayngaran International found an opportunity in Ameer’s wish. Now, Ayngaran has expressed its interest to remake Baley Pandiya with Ajith in the lead and Ameer as director; they are reportedly holding talks with Ajith in this regard.
It is heard that Ajith is thrilled with this idea and has agreed to be a part of this project. He is reportedly amazed by the high regard that Ameer has for him.
So, it looks like we might soon see the revamped version of this black-and-white classic comedy about a conman (M.R. Radha) conniving with his hitman (Sivaji) in an insurance scam who accidentally discovers his look-alike (Sivaji).
