This is a good warm hearted comedy based film with cheerful farce that allows some room for characterization, the leads are well cast and show alot of chemistry together. Needless to say that Kamal Haasan is the one living legend who has always dared to be different. This is yet another movie in which Kamal has once more proved his versatility and yes indeed to earn great applause and accolades. Madhavan has surely done justice to his role and this suave actor certainly deserves a pat on his back for having extended his roles in all genres. Watch out for him, he's gonna go places. So, Anbarasu (Madhavan) an advertising executive is on his way home to Chennai for his marriage. Along the way he meets Nallasivam (Kamal Haasan) and a whole mess of bad luck. Going home ends up being a lot more hassle than it should be even though he resorts through many means of transport and the biggest of which being a lonely and insufferable companion. Nallasivam as his name sounds is a man with a heart of gold, a socialist with an unappealing stature and a great sense of humour. Though the two very opposite travellers, are repeatedly thrown together by fate and finally by choice, Anbarasu still hates Nallasivam and tries his level best to cut him off from the journey. Like magnets, Anbarasu and Nallasivam keep coming together, almost as if fate won't let them separate. They end up sitting next to each other on their journey, and even end up staying in the same hotel room one night. Even amidst Anbarasu's continual cutting attitude Nallasivam, shares his idealistic past and his constant love for the companion. Following a series of strange coincidences that seem perfectly logical, the two completely opposite strangers who kept bumping into each other, drives each other crazy now and thus leaving the footprints of love in our hearts. It's a fine cinematic treat to everybody that doesn't demand much from a viewer, but gives back a lot, both in terms of laughter and good thought provoking feeling. Kiran plays the love interest of Nallasivam in the past and Anbarasu's present fianc閑. Though her fans are a bit let down with the short appearance she makes yet she stays with those applaud able facial expressions. With a perfect script, screenplay, direction and music, 'Anbe Sivam' is sure to take its viewers for a roller coaster ride of all ages.
