Review

Jagan (Madhavan) a law student meets Jamuna (Amoga) at the Shopping Mall in Chennai and instantly smitten, they spend the day together without revealing their identity or name in a coffee shop. But Jamuna is a big believer in kismet, so when they're frequented by a series of wild coincidences all day long, she decides to leave their potential amour in the hands of destiny. She makes him put their name and address on either side of a 100-rupee currency note, which she spends for the coffee bill. If they're meant to be together, she says that 100-rupee note will find its way to the other person.

Jamuna returns to Calcutta. On a strange occasion Jagan saves Seema (Pooja) from a group of rowdies and Seema who is the sister of political bigwig Parasuram brothers falls for him. Few months later Jagan gets ready to marry Seema and Jamuna to a groom arranged by her family but still pine after each other. Both on the verge of marriage, cold feet set in, sending them on a desperate last-ditch search for each other. Jagan finally gets a clue that she is in Calcutta and wants to take a final chance before tying the knot with Seema. Similarly she travels to Chennai taking her sister’s help in search of Jagan. And after all the confusion and running around, Jagan gets the currency note and the lovers get united forms the climax.

Madhavan has done his role with lots of intensity. Amoga is not exactly bland, but she is great either. Pooja’s role could have been better. Saran has maintained the tempo through out the film. Without giving away the ending, the director eventually tells that not only is fate real, but it does push us toward the one person meant for us. Supporting artistes like Anni Malavika, Ceylon Manohar, Delhi Ganesh, Thalai Vaasal Vijay are sufficient. Kalabhavan Mani is not being utilized properly. There is also a scintillating ‘item number’ by Reema Sen, shot at the Vishakapatnam Railway Station with 40 models from Mumbai taking part in the dance. The major plus points are its rich production values, fine music by Bharadwaj and a captivating camera by A.venkatesh. Venkatesh camera has captured the exotic locales of the numerous little caves in Milas Island in Greece .

Comment : Fast paced romantic movie. Watchable.
