Whenever the success team - director Sundar .C, Prashanth and Vadivelu come together, it is a sensation. And every time they churn out a movie, it becomes a hit at the box–office. London is no exception. An added bonanza Pandiarajan too is in the star cast.
London is a full-length entertainer with all the ingredients that ought to satisfy die-hard fans of Prashanth.
It’s a story of two guys Shiva (Prashanth) and Kadhir (Pandiyarajan) who meet accidentally at London and become friends. Due to family problems Shiva comes to London with the dream of making big money. Kadhir work as a clerk in lawyer Vedimuthu’s(Vadivelu) office. But fate has something else in store for them. Money problems make Kadhir think a bit crooked and he makes Shiva impersonate as Saravanan, the grandson of an old, blind couple - (Vijayakumar and Srividhya).
Things again take a new turn when Anjali (Ankitha), a fictitious character whom the fake Shiva had created in order to escape marriage, pops up from nowhere and foils all their attempts to scoot with the old couple's money.
Added to this is the bank-robbery that they had partaken in earlier along with a thug-Boss (Manivannan), his stammering brother (Mayilsamy) and his aide Aishwarya (Mumtaz). Boss gets caught by the Police and reaches the conclusion that Kadhir had betrayed him. Boss hands over a suitcase containing tons of robbed money to his lawyer Vedimuthu and tell him that he would take it back when he returns from jail.
In the meantime, Aishwarya who comes to know about this plays a double game, trying to wrest the booty. She tries to woo Vedimuthu to loot the money. All this and Anjali’s plans to bring to light the impersonation and Shiva’s feeling of guilt etc lead to the building up of an exciting climax.
Both Prashanth and Pandiyarajan are in their comic best as Shiva and Kadhiravan respectively. Debutant Ankitha in micro-minis has a fresh appeal about her. Vadivelu, though loud had given a superb performance. Mumtaz oozes oodles of glamour as Aishwarya. Manivannan, Mayilsamy, Nalini (as Vadivelu’s wife), Delhi Ganesh all have done their best to contribute to the making of this full-length entertainer. Vijayakumar and Srividhya as the blind couple make a perfect cast. Shiva’s cinematography adds to the comic mood of the film. Vidhyasagar’s music is much in keeping with the tempo of the film.
On the whole Sundar.C has given a colorful movie which people could sit through, laugh, smile and relax for two and half hours.
