The movie has already won rave reviews from critics and from several special screenings held till date. Natty Kumar’s father T.N. Janakiraman, is a happy man since the response has been very encouraging! This could herald a wave of off-beat films in Tamil, as it will definitely; find support with the audience for its realistic portrayal of events and characters.
When we spoke to Natty Kumar, he said that, passion for cinema is what united Krish Bala, Narayan and himself for this project. Natty Kumar hails from a family that has produced at least half a dozen films, so it’s only obvious that films are in his blood! Together, they formed ‘ Dreams on Frames’ Production house and started working on Meiporul.
The cast and the crew are completely from the U.S. and none of them have had any formal training in the medium before.
Natty is armed with an associate degree in film making and TV production from California. Krish Bala is a software engineer while Anusha Ramanujam is a graduate of Anna University, Chennai and is currently working in the U.S. Chris Eldridge the cinematographer has shot from several random angles and that has made it more natural.
So what’s the film all about? It is a neat, realistic, suspense thriller with a tight screenplay! We now see a new breed of film makers in Tamil cinema.
