Sun Pictures' much-hyped campus thriller Ninaithale Inikkum, directed by Kumaravel with Prithviraj, Priyamani, Karthik Kumar and Sakthi in the lead roles, is a remake of the 2006 Malayalam blockbuster Classmates directed by veteran Lal Jose. Touted to be a racy entertainer, the Tamil version will grace screens worldwide on September 4.

Ninaithale Inikkum revolves around revolves around a batch of students, Chemistry graduates of 1992. Working in different corners of the world, the friends get together after a gap of 10 years to revive the joy and laughter of their student days.
 
Sukumaran, a firebrand student leader with leanings towards the Left during his college days, is now a diamond merchant with an unhappy and incomplete married life. Satheesan, who was the leader of the opposite faction, is an MLA now. A rich and spoiled brat and son of Gulf settled parents, Pious is now settled in the Gulf. Thara Kurup, daughter of the local MLA, a danseuse who won numerous awards in college with her performances, is single and running a dance school.

The only person missing during the reunion is Murali, a wonderful musician, since he is no more. It was Murali's dream that these classmates should have a reunion ten years after graduation. His parents, who both teach at the college, decide to fulfill their departed son's dream and bring his classmates together for a reunion. The coming together of these classmates becomes an occasion to recall the past and go nostalgic! Ninaithale Inikkum has music by Vijay Antony.
