Jeyam Ravi is shedding his chocolate boy image with this action-packed entertainer from the Production House of Ayngaran International. Produced at a lavish budget, Peranmai directed by the critically acclaimed director S.P. Jananathan has generated the right buzz.
The movie is about the efforts of a forest officer (Jeyam Ravi) to foil the attempts of a terrorist (Hollywood actor Roland Kickinger) from fleeing the country. In his endeavour, Ravi is assisted by five pretty girls including comeback girl Vasundhara.
Shooting in the dense forests was a challenging experience for Ravi. "I loved every second of that experience, being totally involved with the script. The unit had to endure lots of problems, braving the cold and shooting at odd hours. But at the end of the day, the movie will speak for its content and I am proud to have been part of this unique theme," says Ravi with justifiable pride.
Reportedly, Ravi underwent training to learn martial arts and archery. Sources say the duel between Ravi and Hollywood actor Roland Kickinger will be the USP of the movie. Helicopter cameras have been used for the first time in a Tamil movie.
Jananathan said there was a lot of hardship to get the permission of forest officials to shoot in the jungles. If Iyarkai showcased him as a director of promise and E reflected the commercial feasibility, Peranmai seems to be an extension of Jananathan's creative ability.
Releasing on Diwali day, Peranmai could be one of the winners among the five Diwali releases.
