Paiyya is one of the much-anticipated summer releases of the year. Karthi has teamed up with the beautiful Tamannaah for the first time in their careers. Karthi goes from the uncouth rural youth in Paruthiveeran and Aayirathil Oruvan to the utterly sophisticated software professional in this film. He is in fact quite optimistic about Paiyya, that has action, comedy and romance intertwined.

"There are many action scenes in Paiyya and I had to practice hard to perform the stunts. I worked on my body language, timing and training. Even though it was an arduous task, I enjoyed the process," says the actor.

About the story, he says, "Paiyya is a very urban film. This is the first time I am doing a romantic flick and I am really excited! It is the story of a young man and woman who are on a journey from Bangalore to Mumbai in a car. I play a jobless software engineer. Shot entirely in a car, the screenplay is extremely interesting and there are many surprises. I am sure it will make for an exciting watch."

Audiences are eagerly awaiting this movie from the young actor who gave an impressive performance in both his films. This romantic action movie is expected to grace theatres on April 2. Besides directing the movie, Lingusamy, one of the successful film-makers of Tamil cinema, is also producing it. The movie has been shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

It is expected that Karthi's image will undergo a complete makeover after this movie releases. Confirming this, Lingusamy says, ""I am exploring the charming and handsome side of Karthi and that's what you get to see in Paiyya." Songs composed by Yuvanshankar Raja are already runaway hits.
