Maska, starring Ram, Hansika Motwani (also spelt Motwaani) and Sheela is being directed by B. Gopal and produced by M.S. Raju under Sumanth Art Productions banner. The film is a youthful entertainer along the lines of Ready which starred Ram and Genelia. This is the first time that Ram and Hansika are acting together; this is also B. Gopal's comeback after a long hiatus.
The film has a different treatment and is being made as a mass and youth entertainer. This will be the film with the highest budget that Ram has acted in so far. The audio was launched through Aditya Music on December 21 and was available in shops from December 24. Sunil, who achieved star status starring as a comedian in many Sumanth Art Productions movies, has given his best for this flick too.
The title Maska denotes that the hero is adept at flattery. He flatters the two heroines equally without one knowing about the other. Though many were apprehensive about B. Gopal (a director from the old school) and vibrant young producer M.S. Raju working together, all doubts were dispelled when we saw the end product. B. Gopal is capable of delivering a light romantic entertainer as well as serious sentimental films that made him popular.
Mukhesh Rishi, Pradeep Rawat, Naresh, Jhansi, Brahmanandam, Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao, Telangana Sakuntala, Ali, Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam, M.S. Narayana and Krishna Bhagawan are in the supporting star cast.
Story is by Surya, dialogues are by Paruchuri Brothers, cinematography is by Sekhar V. Joseph, editing is by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, art is by Rajiv Nair, screenplay and production are by M.S. Raju, while B. Gopal directs the movie.
Chakri has set Kandikonda's lyrics to music and the makers expect the audio to do extremely well. Coincidentally, it was Chakri who composed the music for Desamudru, Hansika's debut film.
Maska, the latest in a long line of Ram-starrers, is sure to entertain audiences and become a hit along the lines of Ready. Maska will release on Sankaranthi.
