Yes, you are right. Crazy Mohan, the maker of Jery has created a total hilarious comedy, like a welcome breath of fresh air in this summer of sweating action movies. Along with the comic element, there is also an admirable message which forces the audiences to think.

Crazy Mohan is the backbone of this movie. He makes us laugh continuously for 2 ½ hours with his comic treatment of everyday matters. Director Kanthan has perfectly cinematographed the ideas of Crazy Mohan. Hats off to director S.B. Kanthan!

The movie starts with a college backdrop. Jeyaram alias Jery (Ramesh) is a college student. He is an inveterate gambler, and keeps betting for every matter. He then performs some tricks to win his bets. His classmate Janaki (Sruthi) comes to know about his tricks. So they both have clashes frequently.

Koushik (Raghav) and Crazy Balaji are his friends. Jery thinks he can do anything as long as he succeeds. His friends challenge him that he should make three random girls selected by them to propose their love to him. Jery naturally accepts the challenge.

A strike is going on in the college. To bring the situation into control, woman police Jeeva (Meera Vasudevan) comes there. Police lathi-charge the students. Jeeva chases Jery and his friends away from that place. 

While running away from that place Koushik tells Jery “The first girl you have to love is Jeeva.” Koushik says, “The second girl you should love is the famous actress Janani,” when she is standing on top of a building to commit suicide. The third girl selected by them is Janaki, who always quarrels with him in college

Does he succeed in this challenge? How he manages to win the love of these three women, and whom he marries, is the plot of this movie. 

To love inspector Jeeva, he records a cassette and goes bak to take back the cassette realising it is wrong, altering the advertisement model’s head with his head – this is one of the highlight scenes where we can admire and enjoy the performance of Ramesh

The other notable scene in which the director takes the audience on a humourous ride is when the actress Janani is cheated by Jery and his friends as an income tax raid and simultaneous press meet.

Sruthi captures a place in the audiences’ hearts. Before marriage, she adopts a mentally retarded child and decides to marry a person who would accept that child. This scene, in which she has emoted like a seasoned performer, is all the more admired in a newcomer.

Making the three girls to come to the same complex to see a movie and cleverly escaping from them is really a different type of polished comedy. Climax scenes such as marriage proposal with Jery from these girls’ parents and how his grandfather handles that situation is really another slice of cool comedy.

Newcomer Ramesh has performed well as a comedy actor in the midst of today’s action heroes. Congratulations Ramesh!
