Speaking of remakes, Tamil cinema has witnessed the first of its kind with the release of Naan Avanillai . Gemini Ganesan, who has maintained his Naan Avanillai image till date, has proved to be the right inspiration for Jeevan. Taking cue from his role in Thirittu Payale , Jeevan has tactfully handled Naan Avanillai . It would be unfair not to mention the swing in his style of dialogue delivery from one character to the other.

K. Balachandar, who directed the original classic, moulded a phenomenal hit. Director Selva has mixed commercialism in the right proportion to the original recipe, presenting a racy entertainer for today's audiences.

Lucky hunk Jeevan gets to romance five leading ladies of Tamil cinema. Full marks to Selva for wise allotment of frames to Sneha, Malavika, Namitha, Keerthi Chawla and Jyothirmayi. There is no partiality even in the distribution of songs While most of the leading heros sob on wounds suffered during stunts, Jeevan is totally safe ,posing with dames all around him!!

Annamalain (Jeevan) finds himself behind bars for the scandal he has caused by faily cavorting with various women he has come across. He pulls on the guise of a rich man from London , coaxing a model, Priya (Malavika) into marrying him. Little does she know that Annamalai is going to leave her denuded of her wealth. He goes on to follow the same dirty trick with Ammu Kutti (Jyothirmayi); this time he impresses her by posing as a member of the Kerala Chief Minister's family. He leaves her in the same state as his previous wife. He next targets Radha (Keerthi Chawla), the daughter of a staunch Krishna devotee. He makes an entry as the incarnation of Lord Krishna and lures her into his magic circle. She too, undergoes similar treatment. Monika (Namitha), a rich entrepreneur and very talented woman, who falls a victim is also not immune to his charms.

Pragmatic Anjali (Sneha), daughter of a judge (Lakshmi), hears the case against Annamalai and develops empathy towards him. The weeping women launch complaints against him. The climax revolves around the court proceedings leaving the question if Annamalai is punished or does he go scot free?

All the heroines have contributed equally with the right amount of skin show at the required places of the script. Trendy tunes from Vijay Antony add to the joy. It is a peppy package on the whole. Selva is truly in for some gala celebrations!
