Parattai Engira Azhagu Sundaram is a remake of Kannada movie Jogi. The hype and hoopla generated by this movie from the beginning is intact and well-served to the audience with mother and son sentiment at the peak.
The story opens thus:
Azhagu Sundaram (Dhanush), an only child, lives with his parents, leading a happy life in their village. He is more attached to his mother (Archana). His father dies of some disease.
After that, he leaves his mother in the village and comes to the city looking for a job to keep his mother happy. His power and guts accidentally give him the position of a don. Meanwhile, he gets his name changed to Parattai.
On the other side, his mother comes looking for son. She is lost in the big bad city. Both mother and son are looking for each other, but missing meeting very narrowly.
Will mother and son meet each other? This forms the rest of the screenplay. Meera Jasmine plays the role of a journalist student. and Parattai's lady love. The knot in the story is untied by her.
Director Suresh Krishna has not belied the expectations of the public. This very well-made action cum sentiment film is with marvelous tunes by Yuvan Shankar Raja and Gurukiran. All the songs are fabulous.
All the songs are very popular, even before the release of the film. Meera Jasmine is a treat to watch. The great photography and Archana as the unfortunate mothe, enhance the quality of the film. Dhanush has given a wonderful performance.
Parattai - Worth Watching!
