G.V. Films' Urchagam is a story of jealousy and jilted romance.
Ganesh (Nandha) and Jency (Shirin) are good friends. Soon, Ganesh realizes that he has fallen in love with Jency. Before he can propose to Jency, she gets engaged to Nicholas (Dinesh Lamba). Ganesh decides not to open his heart out and to continue being her good friend.
Nicholas feels jealous of Jency and Ganesh's relationship and does all things to spoil it. Further, he offers to sponsor Jency's mother's surgery and keeps her in his control and custody. His actions go off limits when he starts raising doubts about Jency's virginity. Jency realizes that Nicholas is mentally sick, self-centered and sadistic.
When Jency and Nicholas go for a boat-ride, Nicholas confesses that he had tortured her, doubting her friendship with Ganesh. Jency puts up a deliberate act of fainting on the boat and Nicholas assumes she is dead.
Jency flees to Ganesh and narrates the whole episode. The rest of the story is how the couple face and overcome all trouble from Nicholas.
Nandha, handsome and expressive, does his role well. Shirin is looking absolutely lovely and portrays all emotions of a confused girl. Vivek's comedy just makes a mark.
R.B. Gurudev, who has worked as assistant to cameraman Jeeva, has used his camera to capture beautiful locations in Jodhpur and Goa. Ranjit Barot's music for Urchagam has already become a hit. N.K. Bala's art is another remarkable feature in Urchagam.
Urchagam director Ravichandran's third film after Kannedhirae Thondrinaal and Majnu. Overall, a good film worth watching.
