Most directors and actors are very keen to choose an action subject over any other subject to make a film. Kandha Kottai, one such film with lots of twists and turns, will appeal to all audiences as it has comedy, romance and thrill in every scene.
THE CHARACTERS
Siva (Nakul), a young man of today, is disillusioned by the concept of love. But when he meets Pooja (Poorna), his attitude changes and he slowly falls for her. Things take a turn when Annachi (Sampath) enters their romantic life.
THE PLOT
Siva hates the word love and is always trying to separate the lovers as and when he comes across them. Pooja on the other hand encourages her friends who fall in love and even fights to bring lovers together. Siva happens to meet Poorna when his sister and Poorna's cousin fall in love. She makes Siva realize the true meaning of love. But things go wrong when Annachi enters their lives to kill Poorna, who he thinks is responsible for his son's death. He starts killing her close pals without mercy and targets Poorna too. What happens next? Do the lovers succeed in spending their lives together? The rest of the story reveals the same.
TECHNIQUES
Performances
Nakul's transformation into an action hero from his earlier lover boy image is commendable and is sure to bring him success. His comedy track with Santhanam is very good. Poorna looks beautiful and has performed well; the industry will definitely sit up and take notice of this young talented actress.
Direction: Sakthivel
Debut director Sakthivel has a given a good try. Though the story line is similar to the commercial flicks of 80s and 90s, the director has tried to treat the subject differently.
Music: Dheena
Music plays a major role in the film. From all the fast numbers 'Eppadi Ennul Kadhal Vandhadhu' sung by Nakul is the only romantic track and has become popular among the masses as well.
VERDICT
The film woth watching with family and friends.
