Well, it is for you to watch the movie and decide. So what is the movie all about? It is a simple family story told in a slightly different manner, directed by K.S. Ravikumar and produced by Raadan Media Works and Zee.
THE CHARACTERS
Jaganathan (Sarathkumar) is an honest police officer in Chennai. His life undergoes a tremendous change when he is suddenly appointed as Monica's (Shriya) guardian by her dying mother. Coincidentally, her mother was Jaganathan's love. Man In Black (Goundamani), an Australian citizen, provides comedy relief.
THE PLOT
Jaganathan lives a lonely life in Chennai. His life is his cop job, which he does with commitment and honesty. One day, he gets to know about his ex-wife's death and he is suddenly burdened with the responsibility of their daughter Monica.
It is revealed in flashback that when Jaganathan was on a mission to apprehend a terrorist head Hamsid Ansari, and followed him to Australia, he met Illavarasi and fell in love with her. Ilavarasi worked for Hamsid and even invited him for her wedding with Jagan. When Jagan realized this he arranged for arresting Hamsid. Hamsid retaliated by kidnapping Ilavarasi's father and holding him hostage. These developments strained the relationship between Jagan and Ilavarasi and they separated. But on her death bed, Ilavarasi informs Jagan about their daughter and requests him to take care of her. To fulfill her wish, he comes Australia to take their daughter. Here, he meets Man In Black who becomes his aide in the search. How do they meet? What happens after they meet? Does Monica know about her father? Answers to all these questions and more are part of the narrative.
TECHNIQUE
Performances
After a strong performance in Pazhassi Raja, Sarathkumar is in his element with Jaggubhai. He does his action scenes with style which is sure to appeal to his fans. Shriya as Monica is likeable and looks good on screen. Goundamani makes his comeback on the silver screen after a long time. It is wonderful to watch the talented comedian at work again.

After Aadhavan, K.S. Ravikumar presents another fast-paced movie in which the emotions are woven well into the script. Though he had wanted to make this film with Rajinikanth, Sarathkumar is an apt choice to play Jaggubhai.

Music by Rafi is okay.
