Almost an year after his last release, the hit Siva Manasula Shakthi, Jiiva returns with the racy Kacheri Aarambam. As we can guess from its name, the film is a commercial entertainer with lots of action and comedy.
A man who forces a girl into a relationship and a man who spurns the woman who loves him, are not men at all. This is the essence of Kacheri Aarambam.
What is it about?
The film opens with a train journey where Pari (Jiiva) goes into flashback. The story begins at a village Ramanathapuram. Pari is a good hearted person who helps everyone in need. If someone likes anything he owns (e.g. his cell phone) and asks for it, Pari unhesitatingly gives it to that person. Following a tiff between a villager and his dad (Azhagam Perumal), Pari sets out his journey to Chennai to earn money. A disoriented Pari walks through the streets of Chennai without noticing a water tanker coming towards him. Just before the tanker hits him, a hand pulls him to safety and Pari faints.
When he opens his eyes, he sees beautiful young Madhi (Poonam Bajwa) and falls in love with her. Pari keeps following Madhi wherever she goes, but the girl tries her best to avoid him. Soon, he finds that Madhi is facing some difficult moments as Sivamani (J.D. Chakravarthy), a good looking dreaded don loves her madly and is behind her.
So will Pari win the heart of his Madhi? Will he save her from the don? Watch out for Kacheri Aarambam!

Who is in it?
Jiiva, as usual, has given a neat performance. Vadivelu as Deepavali evokes laughter. Jiiva-Vadivelu's combination is top-notch. In fact, the complete first half belongs to them. Poonam Bajwa looks as beautiful as ever; Madhi is a tailor-made role for her. J.D. Chakravarthy returns with sytle and panache to Kollywood after Sarvvam in the form of a stylish, sophisticated but dreaded villain.
Nisha Kothari returns to Tamil cinema in a bold and new avatar in a great and enjoyable item song. Music director D. Imman has given a couple of peppy numbers with 'Vaada Vaada', featuring Nisha, standing out. D閎ut director Thiraivannan should be credited for making the movie work with his racy screenplay.
