Tharagu elaborates on a case of fraud in the real estate business and a sweet love tale that springs from it.

Raghu (Sanjay) is a real estate broker, but not a genuine trader. He is a typical fraud who makes use of the market demand and the burgeoning requirements of the clients for his own benefit. Through his network, he receives a steady stream of clients and after knowing their tastes, he takes them on a tour, showing unauthorized properties with false ownership documents. Craftily convincing the clients, he extracts a hefty sum from them as his fee and craftily slips away from the scene, leaving them to deal with the deception and real owners.

Kanmani (Dimple) is one of Raghu's new clients. On their first meeting itself, lured by her charm, Raghu falls in love with her. He awaits a good opportunity to reveal his feelings to her. Meanwhile, he meets a rich lady (Babylona) and acquires nearly fifty crores out of the deal from her. Raghu's subsequent plans are to shut shop, change identities and to begin a new life with Kanmani in a different location. He narrates the whole episode to her along with the plan that he has worked out for them. Smart Kanmani makes some swift modifications in the plan. What happens next? Newcomer Sanjay shines in his role as a young man who longs for genuine affection. Dimple's role has a good scope for performance and she uses it well. Babylona, who has been appearing in dance sequences, has handled a character that lacks her usual glamour. The comedy band in the film comprises Vyapuri and Vennira Adai Moorthy. Moorthy is Dimple's assistant and provides some good and effective laughs. Minister Vinu Chakravarthy and counsellor Mahanadhi Sankar add up to the supporting cast.

'Manasum Manasum Kalandhedanna' in Bharani's music is a hummable tune. Debutante director Kalanidhi has packaged a very sensible theme featuring newcomers. Barring the length of the screenplay, the film indeed leaves a mark and reveals the truth of many of today's real estate sharks.
